Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

A Call to Muster 23rd March Middlesbrough - Good fun was had!

The Old West Collection has been out on the road this week at the new show "A Call to Muster" in Middlesbrough. So a few shots of the the full town, and some of the fun. We ran it as a participation and had few games, roping in Andy from Ainsty Castings -for the last one which was nice as I had a pile of his kit on the table (Andy - thanks for the discount on the next distraction project! - you lot will just have to guess)

And a few more kindly provided by Count Belisarius

Plenty of action with a couple of participation games held - the undertaker has his hands full. Although it was good a job good old Warbases had delivered a new load of "out of ammo" markers , there was some terrible shooting - a one point everyone was "out of ammo". Thinking about taking it on the road to WARTORN at Scarborough next.
