Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Pulp - G-Men and Cops

MAs well as completing the recently shown Guys and Dolls there was also a delivery of G Men and Cops. These are by Blue Moon. While in the raw they don't have the excellent sculpt of the Bob Murch or Copplestone figures they do I think they have something appealing about them, especially when you hand them over to a talented painter like Loki.

The G Men..

The Cops.

I think I may need a bigger Police House, and a few more bad guys, and some vehicle drivers and passenger.

  1. Loki did a great job on these :)

  2. Great looking cops and gangsters. The uniforms look great, and so do the various suits.

  3. That Loki chap never fails to deliver!

  4. Darn it - I wish that I could paint pinstripes like that! I just don't understand how people can do such fine lines and I'm very jealous of their abilities :-( .

  5. Nice Job...I've got some Murch Coppers coming in a few days...

Work in hand

No more than 3 things on the PAINTING table at once. Nothing new added until something is finished.

PREPARATION work is done when I don't fancy detail painting. Cleaning up, converting, undercoating etc.

PLANNING is expressions of interest or things that have inspired me to be created with no definite timescale as yet.
