Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Gaming of the virtual kind - Old West - Shoot out in Serenity

It’s been a while since the Old West set has had some love, but with current Covid 19 lockdowns around the world I thought I would try some virtual gaming .

I have roped 6 players in to run a few characters each. We are playing by video chat, either individually or if time zones allow we will get everyone together .

So a few pics to kick things off

We will be using various f2f video options and also using Zoom

So let’s see how this goes .

  6. Wonderful looking table. I'm going to pinch your basing style for my livestock; I like the 3 head of cattle per hex base.

  9. I'm impressed, particularly by the fact that you went to the time and effort to buy and paint dozens of cows to make the stockyard look right. True commitment!
