Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Sudan - more bits for the baggage train

At Xmas my good friends Ian and Kay included a surprise wargame present - in the form of a Castaway Arts camel baggage set.

they are nice clean figures and a joy to paint . So they have now been added to the main collection of the baggage train which is now over 30  strong - with the other various bits such as the Indian army water carriers and the various engineers its getting up to 40 strong - only a few more to go to get it 50!

The main baggage train - ooh i think this would be very smelly!

  1. Smelly they might be in real life, but your rendition at least looks fabulous.

  2. You'll be camel hunting at York Racecourse this weekend, then?

Are they new products, the Iron Duke Miniatures civilian baggage and British Army personnel transport camels? I spotted them on Facebook and wondered if they'd work for you and the Sudan.

Top stuff, as ever, Dave. Is it still Black Powder you're favouring for the Sudan, or another set?
