Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Sudan - Skirmishers for the Cameron Highlanders

I have finally finished the last of the tartan, with the completion of the skirmish stands for the Cameron Highlanders. So thats another 6 figures to add the collection.

Pleased to have got these done.

  1. Those are some lovely little men, Dave. They'll be a nice, beautiful distraction for the Bengal boys, when they ride past after winning the day! :)

  2. Tip top painting, Dave, and those skirmish bases are simply stunning. Love the contrast between the red of the British and the sandy/grey texturing of the stands. One of your best imho and plenty of tartan on show too :-)

  6. I'm tired of telling you how good your models look. Couldn't you make a mess of something, just once in a while :-) ? Might give the rest of us some hope ...

Work in hand

The RULES!

No more than 3 things on the PAINTING table at once. Nothing new added until something is finished.

PREPARATION work is done when I don't fancy detail painting. Cleaning up, converting, undercoating etc.

PLANNING is expressions of interest or things that have inspired me to be created with no definite timescale as yet.

On the PAINTING TABLE
10mm ACW
28mm Bashi Bazooks
1/200 me262

On the PREPATION table.
28mm Sudan
15mm WW2

In the PLANNING
Thinking about some 28mm Napoleonic one offs ..
