Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Normandy 44 - Assault Infantry , mine rollers and utility poles

I have been clearing out some stuff that’s been on the table since the of Challenge X.

This takes me to 3 companies worth , or a whole Battalion in fact .

All neatly boxed up in Sally 4th MDF trays for Really Useful Boxes

Ready for our next beach invasion

Some extra bits fir the engineers , 3 mine rollers , to clear those pesky minefields

Plus some French style utility poles . MDF kit from 4 ground . One broke during construction so might as well use it as a:damaged one

So it’s on with a few other table lurker pieces .

Gaming of the virtual kind - Old West - Shoot out in Serenity

It’s been a while since the Old West set has had some love, but with current Covid 19 lockdowns around the world I thought I would try some virtual gaming .

I have roped 6 players in to run a few characters each. We are playing by video chat, either individually or if time zones allow we will get everyone together .

So a few pics to kick things off

We will be using various f2f video options and also using Zoom

So let’s see how this goes .
