The "Cooler King"

Catching up on "little distraction painting" posts this week.  So cue the music to "The Great Escape".

Here we have The Cooler King, the Scrounger and the Surveyor. These are from Ebob's Great Escape range (you don't say...). There are various other prisoners, stooges, guards & goons available. You can also download the various buildings in paper pdf format. One of the reasons I love this hobby is the sheer variety of figures available.  These are beautiful sculpts.

Right now where can i get a motorbike from....

I have not watched it in an age - might just be weekend viewing. Wonder if he will get over the wire this time.

The return of the Bounty Hunter

I have added the last few Old West figures for a while. We see the return  of the Bounty Hunter - the previous one went to e-bay to help fund the project! A lovely figure of the "Man with No Name" (I love painting the design on the poncho)  by "ebob" , seen here talking to another incarnation of Al Swearengen by Artizan. I already have Al from the Blue Moon set so this one  will just be another gambler in town

Along with another couple of cowboys from the Artizan Trail Boss and Cowboys set. These two were a real pleasure to paint with great faces. Also there are 3 standing horses suitable for ones at hitching posts etc - these are by Knuckleduster. Also the fencing from Gamecraft - altogether 100 inches of it for $9.

Along with the foot figure to accompany the Pony Express mounted version.

So off to create some suitable shotgun templates and paint some more tartan. I may even have an initial game report next week for the Old West.

Anything but....

what I had intended to paint this week. You know - the butterfly syndrome - but good for the creative process overall. Having bought some shiny new metal at York I decided to paint some of it up, just for the enjoyment of painting. So I present a mixed bag of chaps with a Hollywood connection..

"The Man with no Name"

"Empress Miniatures" - the film characters set - I had to have it on in the background while painting.

Lovely to paint really crisp and clean details - even have the medals on Colour Sergeant Bourne's chest!

"March or Die"

I watched this again after picking up some "Artizan Designs" French Foreign Legion figures from there March or Die range

The desert fort is nearly completed - will be used for Sudan and FFL games - so will have  get these pictured in it!

And the "Elite Miniatures" Legere recently completed are now based by Will - thanks for the photo

 I have a couple of other single figure specials on the go as well at the moment , then its into serious amounts of Sudan stuff - I have checked figure totals and can now cover the battle of El-Teb at a 1-20 ratio - so that's the target for the end of the summer.  Of course there will Napoleonics as well - the Mamaluke band castings have just turned up too.. choices choices....
