Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Normandy 44 - Extra recon

I have done a top with some more recon elements added for my US forces , with more M8 Greyhounds (one of my favourite US vehicles) , jeeps and recon teams. I also added in some 2 and 1/2 ton trucks as well - I need some more of these in the future too.

I magnetised the turrets , and added in twin aerials for the M8s

The M8s are by Forged In Battle- nicely cast in resin with metal guns

the trucks are by Battlefront Flames of War

well with a US army I reckon you always need more jeeps!

Jeeps and figures are Battlefront FoW

next up is the more pressing need to top up the US Infantry.

We played a first game last week, and enjoyed it.

I have a few other cargo ships from the lead pile left to do, and that should do this i think
