Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Sudan - Military Railway & mancave updates

With the Partizan game looming up I have been pushing on to complete work on the railway. I am pretty happy with how its come out.

It's 1/55th scale , search for Teamsterz Train on Amazon or E Bay

 Not bad for a total of £15.00

I made a Sudanese construction set laying a rail section too. 


Time to strike camp - there might be some Fuzzies about!

Works are moving on again with the mancave , and I now have the temporary table up to allow me to plan how I will make a more permanent one. 


I will get a movable 8x4 table in with storage underneath , just need to finish designing it and get it built.

Plus I have now received the custom made glass splashback I had ordered to put on the wall above the work surface and below the display cases . Its 1600mm x 360mm and is made up of my own pictures of some of my own units and favourite blog pictures. This will be good protection when using the airbrush , or doing other messy jobs.

    Brilliant stuff. Its very impressive that you were inspired by a random photo in a book just 2 or so months ago and now this! And while resting he man cave too. Inspiring!

    The train has turned out a treat and you can't argue with the price! I really like the way you've created a section of track being laid to add interest too.

    The man cave is certainly looking the business now. The glass splash back is a cracking idea mate. Love it!

      Cheers Millsy. I also want to add another flat bed carriage with the large calibrate gun as per the pictures in the book you sent me!

      I am very pleased with the Splashback. I may get another for behind the main paint desk!
