Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Normandy 44 - a bit of virtual gaming

Having finished some stuff recently I have decided to set the table and invite some friends for a spot of virtual gaming this week .So it’s a US attack into bocage country .

Planning for the attack is under way . James made this diorama for me .. it’s a great piece.

Attack along the table and up hill to “St Martin L’Eglise”
The table 8x4 , with a ridge line at the far end . It uses polystyrene packing under the mat the raise the height gradually. I even had some spare hedges .. reckon it used about 40 feet of it .
The centre . Still need the guys to choose support options

    1. Indeed .. but I thought let’s try . I have various small tripods and the table is on wheels so see easy to move around to get the right shot !
