Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Normandy 44 - LCMs and Sherman’s

The next top is for a planned beach assault game for this years D Day anniversary . I have added in 6 LCMs and 3 Sherman’s with deep wading kits . This lot will be transport for the engineering and beach clearance teams .

I have also picked up this . Not exactly the right scale , but it will do service for now . We are working with Pendraken to get some 15mm MDF LCTs on the books!

  1. You realise that one to one scale gaming is normally done in bigger scales ! Very nice work 👍

    1. Never! ... to be fair I only ordered two of these .. turned out they were two to pack which wasn’t clear. One then was bashed up by the Royal Fail throwing it through an open top window . I got a replacement for that , which turned up as two... then I have managed to fix and cover the broken one.

  3. Great additions to your collection. I've always liked the look of a Sherman with the deep wading equipment. Cheers Greg
