Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Gaming - The Soudan

I have just had a fantastic 4 days of gaming with The League of Extraordinary Kriegspeilers . Steve had organised a campaign system and players and with a combination of collections of troops the Mahdists being mine  and and using Steve’s superb terrain . 5 great battles fought with great spirit and lots of laughter.

Here are just a few pictures - as I was so busy all the time I forgot to take loads . Some are Steve’s.

  4. I’ve been following this event on various Facebook posts over the past week. It looks fabulous and years from now the Lucky Ones will be able to say that “I was there.” The venue looked very spiffy too. Congratulations.
