The last weekend was spent with the guys of “The League of Extraordinary Kriegspielers” . We were meeting to complete this years summer gaming season which had been played out with a number of map moves and umpire adjudicated battles . The campaign was set across the Far East from Tibet , Mongolia , Manchuria and China with all the various potential players from the Western Power, Red Russians, White Russians , Japanese and various other Warlords . I was heading up the KMT as Chaing Kai Shek the Chinese Nationalists .
Some truly brilliant games played with wonderful spirit and laughter . I had a really good map campaign , but l couldn’t win my own games on table (I know better what to do next time mind! ) , but did fine in other players . I ended up with control of most of China , with Japs having Manchuria . At least I have had experience with the Setting The East Ablaze rules now which I had not played before . I was pleased to have been voted best overall player through the campaign and on table games .

DeleteThe Back of Beyond is such a compelling setting for games. I've been meaning to pick up STEA.
ReplyDeleteYes it’s piqued my interest in something a bit different
DeleteSome really excellent looking tables there Dave - BoB /RCW is one of my favourite eras - a gaming mate has all the Setting the East Ablaze books although we generally use different rules for our games.
ReplyDeleteYes the tables were excellent . What rules do you use ?
DeleteGreat work Dave and splendid tables we have enjoyed plenty of similar if smaller games 👍
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking end to a campaign season. A colorful crowd too for the wrap up dinner.
